Grown to full size, the caterpillars will actually spin cocoons of silk which skilled laborers in the Orient have been unraveling entire cocoons for their silk.




If you wish to try your hand at unraveling your silk cocoons yourself, make sure you bake your moths while still in the cocoon or they will ruin the thread. Enjoy the fun of nature with your children, and pass along a centuries old tradition.
